HI!
HIBBEN HERE - Chances are you have found your way here because we have mutual interests, you have been
led here after meeting one or both of us (in person or on-line), or somebody suggested you stop by to check out our site. Whatever
the reason you are reading this, we are happy you took a moment to check us out.
Our associated websites involve family history/genealogy (including
our business involving related workshops, presentations, and research) and folklore/folk music (including the Riverside
Folk Song Society). Click on one of the links above to learn more about Uncle Butch, the Living Legacy Project, or the
Riverside Folk Song Society, or click the following link to read more about Jean's Family History business and/or family
names under investigation: http://www.circlemending.org .
Another addition to life is my blog. I comment on various things
that are of particular interest to me, my genealogy clients and followers, and my family. Of course there will be remarks
about family history and music, their connections, and similar topics. If you are interested, go to http://circlemending.blogspot.com/.
LIVING LEGACY PROJECT
As
most are aware, my love of folklore is all-consuming. It has become contagious and Butch (Lynn) has developed a great appreciation
for the practice of sharing the family heritage through stories, pictures, and narratives. He is involved in the Living Legacy Project and welcomes all who are interested to explore this unique way of sharing the family legacy with the
descendants. Click on the tab above to check out the FREE options available for keeping your family history alive into future
generations.
THE DOGS
We recently added a page for the dogs. We have 2 - Klondike and Rogue. They are
almost as much a part of our family as our children and grandchildren. We are sorry to report that our beloved Buddy
passed away on January 3, 2011, 11 years and 3 days after he joined our household. He will forever be in our hearts. Check
them all out at The Dogs.

Demise of the Groundhog Day Letter:
Instead of an annual Christmas letter, we started sending out an annual letter for Groundhog Day in the 1980s. This
worked so well when I was in the field of academia that we decided to keep it going. Eventually we posted our annual
letter on the Internet. In 2011 our groundhog took off for the Bahamas before the letter could be composed. Because of
the advent of Facebook and my blog; along with my professional mailing list, to which I send monthly updates (detailing where
I/we are presenting); and Butch's pages here, with his upcoming "gigs" and his involvement in the Living
Legacy Project, we have decided to discontinue yet another accounting of our comings and goings. We appreciate the holiday
greetings and electronic greetings we receive from our friends, family members, and associates.
To connect with
us on Facebook . . . Jean: facebook/Circlemending Butch: facebook/Sawphist
To follow my blog, go to Circlemending.blogspot.com
To join my mailing list, go to Circlemending.org and scroll down on the home page to the Guest Book link; add your information on the Guest Book (this is seen only by
me and will enable me to add your email address to my mailing list). I send out newsletters about once a month.
IT'S DONE!
I COMPLETED MY DOCTORAL DISSERTATION AND RECEIVED MY PhD IN FOLKLORE IN AUGUST 2008!!
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT PART
OF MY LIFE IS OVER ... BUT NOW IT IS ON TO OTHER THINGS, SUCH AS PUTTING IT ALL TO GOOD USE. I DO ACCEPT CLIENTS FOR
MY GENEALOGY-FOCUSED BUSINESS, BUT ON A LIMITED BASIS: BETWEEN MUSIC AND PRESENTATIONS OF ALL SORTS, WRITING PROJECTS, AND
TRAVEL, TIME TO DO GENEALOGY FOR OTHERS IS SEVERELY LIMITED. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT IF I MAY BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU
IN YOUR FAMILIAL SEARCHES, HOWEVER, GO TO www.circlemending.org AND CLICK ON THE "YOUR PEOPLE" LINK.
